This week we had fun celebrating Dr. Seuss Week in art class! 🎨

It’s always a great opportunity to introduce students to an author ✍️ and illustrator whose work reminds us how powerful imagination and creativity can be.

Each grade explored it in their own way:

Kindergarten read Green Eggs and Ham and created a fun cut-and-glue plate craft inspired by the story.

First grade colored the red and white patterns of the Cat in the Hat’s hat, practiced their cutting skills, and turned their hats into wearable headbands.

Second grade practiced their observation and drawing skills by learning how to draw the Cat in the Hat through a step-by-step video demonstration.

I love seeing how excited students get when stories and art come together. Moments like this are a great reminder that creativity, storytelling, and visual expression can support learning in powerful ways.
