At this year’s Business Leadership Retreat, we welcomed more than 70 student organization leaders as they prepare to lead their organizations throughout the upcoming academic year.

This year’s retreat focused on professionalism and how student organizations can continue to elevate their presence through recruitment, engagement, content creation, and the way they represent themselves across campus.

We also introduced Studio25 🎥 — a new resource available to student organizations designed to support recruitment videos, podcasts, and social media content creation. We’re excited to see how our student leaders use this space to bring their ideas to life.

Thank you to alumnus Amir Badr, BS Finance and Economics '08, for visiting campus to speak with our ENTR 310 students about his entrepreneurial journey and tips for new entrepreneurs.

Amir is the founder of Upkey and co-founder of ShoutOut. His entrepreneurial story began at age 17, when he fled Iran and came to the United States, eventually earning his undergraduate degree from and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. focusing on entrepreneurship. His mission is to inspire and support entrepreneurs, using his personal story of resilience and innovation to drive meaningful change.

This talk was hosted by the Managerial Studies department, and took place in Clinical Associate Professor Shahnaz Ibrahim's Entrepreneurial Management class.
