DePaul students had a front-row seat to what leadership in the sports industry actually looks like during our Women in Sports panel with the Chicago Bears. Moderated by Bears Sideline Reporter Lauren Screeden, the conversation brought together powerhouse women leaders who shared honest insights on career paths, challenges and what it takes to break through.​

DePaul has long been a leader in technology education, and our new CyberLabs takes that commitment even further. These state-of-the-art spaces in the DePaul University Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media - CDM give students hands-on experience with advanced technologies and real-world systems in cybersecurity, intelligent systems engineering, robotics and AI. Blended with classroom learning, these opportunities prepare students for high-demand careers and help them building skills that matter for the future. The CyberLabs also supports faculty-led research and innovation, ensuring students aren’t just learning, they’re contributing to advancements in the field.

For DePaul sophomore Erickson Ramos, ROTC has become a place to build leadership skills and find community with cadets at other Chicago universities. It’s also opened doors to opportunities he never expected, like presenting the colors at Soldier Field for the NFL playoffs, an unforgettable moment made possible through DePaul’s partnership with the Chicago Bears.

Always great to see a familiar face at the Golden Globes! Stranger Things star Joe Keery, a The Theatre School at DePaul University alum, helped present this year’s Best Original Song and Best Original Score awards.

DePaul students had an incredible opportunity to visit Halas Hall to learn how the Chicago Bears approach sponsorships, marketing and communications as part of their Behind the Scenes of Chicago Sports Organizations class.

During panel discussions and Q&A sessions, Bears staff shared career advice and insights. Some key takeaways:

This immersive class, offered each December through the DePaul Driehaus College of Business, gives students real-world exposure to the sports industry in Chicago and valuable networking opportunities with professionals.
