🎉 Welcome to NEIU, Dr. Brandon K. Johnson! 🎉

We are proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Brandon K. Johnson as Northeastern Illinois University’s inaugural Director of Housing & Residence Life, beginning February 9, 2026.

Dr. Johnson brings more than a decade of leadership experience in Housing and Residence Life, having served in progressive roles at institutions including the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Michigan, Loyola University Chicago, and Washington University in St. Louis. His work centers equity-driven leadership, operational excellence, and student belonging, with a strong focus on student success and persistence.

At NEIU, Dr. Johnson will lead all aspects of our 440-bed NEST Residence Hall, advance Living Learning Communities, partner closely with Student Success and Retention, and guide the transition of the NEST to full university management after May 29, 2026.

Nationally, Dr. Johnson is a recognized leader in the profession. He most recently served as Immediate Past Chair of the Pan African Network (PAN) of ACPA–College Student Educators International, earning multiple national honors for excellence in programming and social justice initiatives. He is also an accomplished scholar, presenter, and proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Amanda Ngola as NEIU’s new Director of Student Counseling Services, effective January 12, 2026!

Dr. Ngola brings more than two decades of experience in college mental health and higher education. She has served in senior clinical leadership roles at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Illinois and Wisconsin. She will also serve as a Confidential Advisor, offering confidential support and advocacy to individuals impacted by sexual violence and related misconduct.

We are thrilled to have Dr. Ngola join our campus community and look forward to the leadership she will bring to student counseling services at NEIU. 💙💛
