St. Sava Academy families and friends enjoyed an exciting day together at the Chicago Wolves hockey game.🏒❄️
We were especially honored to meet Spiridon “Spiras” Anastas, a highly respected coach with an impressive international career. Coach Anastas previously led the Serbian national hockey team, playing a key role in developing the sport and mentoring young athletes while representing Serbia on the international stage.
This event was made possible thanks to Victor and Andrew Kononenko, whose idea brought it all together, along with the Parent Network, who helped organize the outing. A heartfelt thank you to all of them!
And thank you to everyone who joined us for a memorable day filled with school spirit, community, and fun! 💙

Dear St. Sava Families,
As we enjoy our Christmas break, we wish all of our families a restful and joyful time—a chance to pause from the daily routine, spend time together, and enjoy the warmth of loved ones.
As we prepare for Božić and conclude our first semester, we also reflect on the meaningful Sundays in our Orthodox tradition—Detinjci, Materice, and Oci, each one reminding us of the love, gratitude, and generosity that bind our families together.
These beautiful traditions guide us into the spirit of giving: first inviting our children to show generosity, and then reminding us as parents to give with love, warmth, and the kind of kindness we hope to model for our children.
We are grateful for an Orthodox tradition that centers giving over receiving—especially during a season when the world often focuses on presents and “more.”
What a blessing it is to share traditions that call us back to gratitude, connection, and love within our families and our St. Sava community.
Please enjoy a few moments from our Christmas Party and the joyful visit from Sveti Nikola! 🎄✨

Language is more than communication — it is identity, memory, and belonging.
At St. Sava Academy, preserving the Serbian language means preserving our heritage while preparing students to thrive in the world.

Језик је више од комуникације — он је идентитет, сећање и припадност.
У Академији Светог Саве, очување српског језика значи очување нашег наслеђа, уз истовремену припрему ученика да успешно напредују у савременом свету.

Choosing where your child starts school is one of the most important decisions a family makes.
The early years shape how children learn, how they see themselves, and how they connect faith, values, and community to everyday life.
At St. Sava Academy, children grow in:
📚 strong academics
✝️ lived Orthodox faith
🌍 bilingual learning (Serbian & English)
❤️ confidence, belonging, and character
Education should shape the whole child — mind, heart, and soul.
That is why St. Sava Academy offers a continuous educational journey from preschool through 8th grade, providing children with stability, consistency, and a nurturing environment during their most formative years. Our students grow alongside teachers who know them well, values that remain constant, and a community that supports them academically, spiritually, and emotionally every step of the way.
