🔥 Celebrating a major moment in music as a new band broke barriers and brought fresh energy to a classic sound. Their rise was not just about charts, it was about changing the culture.
The Paradox is an all Black pop punk band from Atlanta that recently made history on the Billboard charts. The group formed in summer 2024 and quickly gained attention across the rock world. The band includes Eric Dangerfield, Donald Bryant, Christopher Xelan Bernard, and Percy Crews. Within months, they opened for Green Day in their hometown. They also shared stages with All Time Low and The Offspring. Travis Barker joined them for a cover of "The Rock Show" and later worked with them on their track "Bender". Their single "Get the Message" reached number one on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart on January 24, 2026. They became the first Black band to reach that spot.
Their momentum started online. Their song "Do Me Like That" went viral after a backyard performance gained nearly 10 million views. The track later reached number four on Alternative Digital Song Sales. Their EP "NSFW" helped grow their fan base. They also built close to a million followers on Instagram. Fans said their success felt personal. Many shared they were teased for loving rock music and never saw bands that looked like them. The band leaned into that story and wrote, "We got clowned for listening to pop punk in high school. Now we're dropping your new favorite song." Their rise was not just about music. It was about opening doors for others.
