The War on Drugs Is a War on Us! SSDP at NU is a grassroots network of students dedicated to promoting drug policy education and reform.

Movement-building happens in many different ways. Through a practical education about drug use and the realities of the drug war, SSDP at NU strives to mobilize young people to participate in the political process and dream of sensible drug policies, while fighting against counterproductive policies that hurt our youth. SSDP at NU respects the diverse experiences and identities of our constituents

Dear Northwestern and SSDP Family,

We noticed some recent traction on this page and wanted to update you all about the status of this group. The board graduated during the peak of COVID and the club has not convened or had leadership for about 2 years. The original board is very grateful for the important discussions we had and the space we created to support each other.

This post is an open call to any NU students (or graduate students) to feel free to restart this club if you're interested. Please DM this page and the previous board will be happy to advise you through how to reinstate the club, and transfer ownership of our socials/assets.
You won't be at it alone - SSDP is a global, student-led grassroots organization with a lot of resources and people willing to help you out.

And don't forget - the war on drugs is a war on us! Stay safe.

Next Monday (Feb 22nd at 7pm CST) we will be meeting to explore and understand drug policy in the US and on campus. This meeting will lay the groundwork for our future efforts regarding drug policy education and advocacy, which is a core component of our mission at SSDP. We're really excited to begin analyzing & discussing these ideas with you all!
