Reminder for new divers, the open water online course consists of 12-15 hours self-study and must be completed before getting in the water. Available dates below: plan on two days for confined water training and two days for open water training.

a lotta folks think cold water diving is crazy but the seals, sealions, spanish shawls, and golden kelp forests last weekend were in such abundance that i just gotta post this 2020 schedule on behalf of Marin Diving Center - the dive shop that books me to teach classes and host trips in the Bay Area. cool people - and fun dives are always free.

here are some choice photos from last weekends channel islands excursion. conditions were exceptionally good - kelp forests of gold and lots of frisky sea lions. shout out to Marin Diving Center for sending the greatest group of divers and students.

Kelp Forests anyone? Channel Islands two day charter - January 12-13, 2019. Set up your gear and crash in a bunk in the Santa Barbara marina (Friday night, 1/11). Boat motors off during the wee hours. Wake up to the smell of bacon and dive dive dive. Back at the harbor on 1/13 (late afternoon). $416 includes meals and air fills.
