In order to have the voices of medical students heard, and in order to make changes that better suit the ideals of our generation, we must get involved from the ground up. As medicine and healthcare continue to evolve, it is up to us as medical students to advocate for the betterment of public health. The AMA chapter at Georgetown is focused on advocacy, education, health policy, and progressive legislation.

The AMA opposes the Graham-Cassidy bill to repeal key aspects of the Affordable Care Act because it would jeopardize patient protections, undermine insurance coverage, cut Medicaid and cause millions of patients to lose coverage.
