We have six extra plots left. If you know anyone that is interested, please have them email [email protected]. We have converted the application into electronic format and have a paypal account for simplicity.
A lot of work has been done in the garden over the past few days. All of the non-utilized plots have been rototilled and all the pathways have been weed-wacked! Special thanks to Tony Baio and Paul Schumann for their hard work.
It has been a few hot days but the garden is starting to pick up. Have 14 members this year!!!
Hello Fellow Gardeners:
We know many of you have been asking questions about the garden this year. We just got word that the garden will stay in its current spot this year and we will still have water access. Good news! We have sent emails out to all past gardeners.
If you are interested (and we hope you are), please fill out the application form in your email with a $30 check payable to the “IC Parent’s Club.” Send the application and payment to “Kathleen Schnier, c/o Caroline Schumann, Room 18” by Friday, May 18th. This will allow us the opportunity to open up the garden to other IC community members who want to participate in the garden.
Once we receive your application and payment, we will send you information on the garden, a calendar of garden events, a map of the garden and your plot number. Each member will have on site two bags of soil for their garden which will be available by Saturday, May 26th. At that time, you will be able to clean out your plot, add the two bags of soil and begin planting!
One more item – we will be sending out a calendar link to all the garden members to sign up for watering throughout the garden season and harvesting during harvest season.
Please remember that during this hot weather the gardens will need even more water. Many of the beds seemed like they have not been watered. If you have the opportunity to water other beds - that would be helpful.
