Just a cute photo of our team seeing Tanuja Devi Jagernauth’s Rupture and Repair play at Free Street.
FYI Movement Memos with Tanuja and Kelly Hayes just dropped an episode about conflict resolution - https://truthout.org/audio/rupture-and-repair-under-fascist-conditions

We are building a coalition of businesses in Rogers Park who oppose ICE, their presence, and the harm they do to our communities.
🪴 We are using this network to bring folks together to offer more trainings, supplies, and gathering spaces.
⛔️ The only requirement for businesses to sign on is that those with physical locations put up a sign that makes clear ICE is not allowed.
👉 If you’re a community member looking to host such trainings or gathering spaces, please connect with us!

💭 We are envisioning more spaces for folks to come decompress and not be alone. Whether after patrol/verifier shifts or on days we’re taking off to rest, we need to be listening to our bodies and our nervous systems. This is heavy and difficult to hold alone.
💓 If you are a healer or mental health professional who would like to hold such space but need support (venue, registration management, supplies, etc.) please fill out our form.

Do you struggle using gender neutral pronouns? Do you have questions?
Is there someone in your life you want to support and affirm but you’re not sure how?
Join us on June 7 virtually to discuss singular they/them pronouns and ask questions in a non-judgmental space.
In honor of , we are providing a free 90-minute virtual workshop about they/them pronouns.
We know it’s often hard to find spaces to learn where we can ask questions and vulnerably admit what we don’t know or understand. This conversation and discussion will focus on the use of the singular they/them pronouns. During our time together, we will create a space for you to learn, practice and better understand they/them pronouns and neopronouns & incorporate gender neutral language into your everyday communication.
Whether you’re new to the concept or looking to deepen your understanding, this event is for you! Let’s learn and practice together & foster a more inclusive community.

During challenging moments, hope can feel like a single grain of sand, expected to withstand the rising waters of the world’s injustices. But often hope is the very thing that propels us, even when the path seems unclear. Right now, many of us are worried: for our communities, for our friends, for families, for ourselves. But as we navigate these difficult moments, we must remember that our efforts matter. Every act against oppression, no matter how small, contributes to a greater good. We must remember that we don’t fight for justice because it’s easy, we fight for justice because it’s right.
In the face of oppression, during these next four years and beyond, let us allow hope to become more than just a passive desire for things to improve; let it become a call to action. Let it be a reason to persist even when the odds are stacked against us. Let every hopeful step we take in the fight for what is right be driven by the belief that a better world is not only possible, it’s inevitable.

Happy winter solstice from our team.
As you spend time with loved ones during this season (and really, any time of the year), we've put together a quick guide with options on how to interrupt microaggressions.
Though these comments may seem innocuous to the person making them, they’re often rooted in systemic oppression or our own implicit biases and can leave the recipient, and others around them feeling hurt or marginalized.
Navigating these moments with intention and confidence is key to creating more inclusive and respectful environments.
