Passing the guidon 🫡

This morning we held the Spring Semester Change of Command Ceremony for 2026, officially transferring the title of Battalion CO from MIDN 1/C Rybarczyk to MIDN 1/C Golubitsky. Here’s to tradition, transition, and a new chapter of excellence for our midshipmen ⚓️🌟🇺🇸

Last week MIDN 1/C Allen selected his first ship. This marks the beginning of his SWO journey, and we couldn’t be more proud. Fair winds and following seas as he steps into the Fleet

On 9/11, IIT/UIC NROTC climbed 110 flights in remembrance of 9/11. Afterwards, our CO and Gunnery Sergeant reminded us why we honor this day — to carry forward the memory of sacrifice and courage.

This past week, IIT/UIC NROTC had a beautiful day at the beach. They rolled around in the sand and did some team building exercises.

In honor of 9/11, our Color Guard team had the privilege of joining Cincinnati Inc. in a ceremony to help present a donation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This incredible organization provides mortgage-free homes to families of fallen first responders, carrying forward a legacy of service and sacrifice.

IIT/UIC NROTC came together for our first MOTO Run this semester — motivation was high and we set the tone for the weeks ahead.

New semester, same mindset: push harder, get stronger

This summer MIDN 1/C Rybarczyk successfully completed and graduated Officer Candidate School (OCS). Upon completion she has earned the title of United States Marine. She will finish out her final year with the Battalion, and will commission as a 2nd Lieutenant.
