Educators & administrators from 13 public charter schools across Iowa recently gathered at the Every Learner Forward Conference in Des Moines. It was great to gather charter folk from river-to-river all in one location for professional learning opportunities as they prepare for the 2026-27 school year. It's going to be a great year for students in public charter schools!

The Iowa Coalition for Public Charter Schools is very excited to announce the approval of 8 new public charter schools in the state of Iowa! We will work to open these schools in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines in August of 2024 and 2025 to serve the needs of students and families in these communities with new innovative models.

Five groups have applied to open eight charter schools in Iowa over the next two years.

The Iowa Coalition for Public Charter Schools was started in July of 2023 to launch & support public charter schools across the state of Iowa.
