Please support Asian Americans Advancing Justice Atlanta in the wake of this week's events. Also, make sure to continually counter anti-Asian bias with your children by continually learning about and celebrating diverse Asian cultures, providing a plethora of narratives about people from each cultural group. Here's one book list to start: https://socialjusticebooks.org/booklists/asian-americans/. Buy books by Asian and Asian American authors to show publishers there's a demand for these books and help generate broader availability of diverse narratives of Asian peoples. We have a lot of work to do to stop anti-Asian hate in this country.
Press Release - Georgia’s Asian American Leaders Call for Community-Centered Response After Six Asian Women Are Murdered
During this time of crisis for our AAPI community, we call on our local and state government to provide robust and responsive crisis intervention resources, including in-language support for mental health, legal, employment, and immigration services. It is time for Georgia to invest in transformative justice that begins with cross racial dialogue and community-building that address the root causes of violence and hate.

The racial turmoil our country is experiencing will not end overnight. We are caring for children in what will be remembered as one of the most significant eras in history--a struggle for racial justice and human rights that will last for years to come. How do we support children's well-being and resilience in this time period? How do we disrupt racism in socialization from an early age? How do we encourage bravery and resistance in age-appropriate ways? How can we identify and transform the ways that everyday white supremacy culture seeps into our parenting and teaching? We all have a role to play in eradicating racist oppression. How will you play yours?
Spread the word and join us to learn more about how you and and the little ones in your life can work for racial justice together!

MLK day has been white-washed over time. So, how do we celebrate authentically? As we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with our children, remember Ijumaa Jordan's Do's and Don'ts. Here are two of of the most important ones on her list:
"Do anti-bias education even when it seems intimidating or daunting."
"Don’t do activities or make crafts that only promote friendship. Dr. Martin Luther King and others fought against systematic racism and white supremacy, not an inability to make friends." "
