Really enjoyed reading this to my class today! I teach primary so finding a book that introduced my kids to Madam VP in a way that they’d relate to was super refreshing...

Imagine their excitement to see that a black woman would be in the White House 🥰 (yes many were unaware). Happy to expose them to this beautiful piece of history!

So many schools teach compliance without discussing the importance of impact in the classroom.. I will always choose impact over compliance because I know my students aren’t just numbers...

Establishing a classroom that fosters trust within a child and their teacher trumps a compliant practice any day...

❌ it’s not gonna be black and white.. make room the gray areas and even the purple, red, and orange areas 🤣 impactful teachers are needed 🥰

Because my timeline looks a lot different from my personal timeline, I think it’s important to share this message. We have to be cognizant of the words used to describe actions that are oppressive in nature. Today is not an act of protest.. let’s call it what it is... thugs, hoodlums, terrorism..

the same terms thrown at African Americans after one of our own are murdered in the streets... we can’t pick and choose when to say protests can involve violence smh ✌🏽
