Chi-Town comedy at its best. Damon Williams celebrated 31 years doing comedy and had us in stitches! It was a great line up of comedians and our other favorites were Stephon Raickett and Uncle Rail. A hilarious night! Support your local comedians!

What a treat it was to lead a fireside chat with Howard University’s new president Dr. Ben Vinson III! The Freshman Seminar students asked great questions stemming from funding to connecting with the HU community. Aside from all of his accolades we learned that he has a soon to be published book about a jazz musician - wow. I look forward to talking more with the president about his work and travels in Latin America. Who knows what’s to come!

Being a part of the Presidential Inauguration Faculty Forum Series was an honor. I hope these conversations continue across disciplines and outside of Howard. Our Blackness is diasporic!

If you have a chance to get to Ponce, Puerto Rico by all means, go to La Casa de Arte y Cultura. A space created from the sweat, pockets and love from the artist Diógenes Ballester and his late wife Dra. Mary Katherine Boncher. We had a soul touching and thought provoking tour by Mr. Ballester in the digitally supported museum. One piece is this floor laberinto of life’s journey. Across the street is a home for artists and cultural workers residency - he converted his mother’s home into a space for living, working, cooking and collaborating.
