National Optometric Students Association- ICO Chapter

Happy weekend! Just a reminder that NOSA’s first social event will be taking place TONIGHT. Come ice skate in Millennium Park with your fellow NOSA members from 5PM-7PM. Hope to see you there!

Prior to his current position as Chief Medical Officer, he served as the Executive Director of OneSight, Luxottica’s global nonprofit organization. OneSight’s vision is to eradicate the global vision care crisis in our lifetime. Singh made a full-time commitment to global mission work. He moved to South Africa to serve as Medical Director for a program designed to bring sustainable medical care to the third largest post-apartheid township in the country. In addition to Dr. Singh's huge success, he spoke at this past AOA national convention in Boston, MA informing students on his journey through Optometry.

This academic year has only just begun, but check our what your NOSA members have been up to last quarter! From the 2016 NOA convention, to last year’s NOSA “Eye See I Learn” event, to vision screenings -- NOSA at ICO has been doing it all! Stay tuned for upcoming events (:

This Friday, January 15th NOSA is hosting a Happy Hour at Chicago's very own Howl at the Moon location. If you've never been or heard of Howl at the Moon before it's a live music bar where two dueling pianists take the stage and entertain the crowd with song requests from the audience. Last year they played everything from R. Kelly's "Ignition" to "In the Jungle"... basically any song they draw from their canister is free game.

The event is open invite for non-NOSA and non-ICO members alike. All you (and your guests) have to do is say "NOSA" at the door for your drink tickets.

Free Admission from 5-7PM (cover is $10 after this time)
First two drinks for $1 each*
$4.00 drinks until 9pm*
Complimentary appetizer buffet available from 5-7pm

Our NOSA Chapter put together a very special event for the children of the Henry Booth House Program early in the Winter Quarter. We set-up a number of stations for the kids to explore different aspects of Optometry including VAs, ocular motility, anatomy, and vision science.

Thanks to all of those involved in the creation and ex*****on of this event. From all the smiling faces in the photos we think everyone had a great time! We couldn't have done it without you :)
