Soto implemented multicultural and mentoring programs along with fellowship opportunities for Latino students at National-Louis University and Columbia College. Through her experience she served in leadership positions with nonprofit and community organizations, including seven years at the Close Up Foundation. She serves on the board of Erie Family Health and Instituto Health Science Career Academy. She has a BA from the University of the South, an MA from Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain, and an MBA from National-Louis University. In 2004, Soto was a National Hispana Leadership Institute Fellow.
