They’re called vaquitas, and they’re super cute; however, there are only 30 of them left! They are a rare species of porpoise that live around the Gulf shore. It’s estimated that they will be completely extinct around 2018 unless fishery bycatch is completely eliminated. These adorable little porpoises are only around 5 ft long, and have dark rings around their eyes and lips. Join the Green Team in the Sanctuary Courtyard this Wednesday from 4-6 PM! We'll have an interactive game involving rubber duckies, and most importantly, we'll be giving out Insomnia cookies and reusable water bottles to those who play our game! Come learn about water sustainability and munch on a double chocolate chip cookie at the same time.
