Hi Monroe Families,

We are happy to announce registration is now open for our After School Program with MFS! The link is highlighted below. Please read all the information below and reach out to Ms. Fonseca if you have any questions. You will receive a confirmation email noting your place in the program.

PROGRAM OFFERINGS

Start date for K-2nd and 3rd-5th grade is Tuesday, Sept 5th, after the Labor Day Holiday.

K-2nd Grade: Mon - Fri; 3:15 - 5:30p. 20 spots.

3rd-5th Grade: Mon - Fri; 3:15 - 5:30p. 15 spots.


SAMPLE SCHEDULE

3:15 - 3:45p; Students are greeted by after school staff in the lunchroom and receive their free snack.
4:00 - 5:00p; Our program staff and partners lead a variety of activities such as arts & crafts, group games, music, dance, yoga, and much more!
5:00 - 5:30p; Recess time outside or free play in classroom/gym before dismissal at 5:30p.

WHO ARE WE?

Metropolitan Family Services (MFS) is a nonprofit that serves the Chicago area through a variety of programs including the Community Schools program. This program, funded by the 21st CCLC federal grant, allows MFS to provide free, after school programming to our Community School partners, including James Monroe Elementary School.

OFERTA DE PROGRAMAS

EJEMPLO DE HORARIO

4:00 - 5:00p; Nuestro personal del programa y colaboradores de la comunidad conducen una variedad de actividades como artes, juegos de grupo, música, baile, yoga, y mucho más!
5:00 - 5:30p; Tiempo de recreo afuera o juego libre en el gimnasio antes de la salida a las 5:30p

Hello! This is the After School Program with MFS at Monroe. We are happy to announce our Summer Program options for 2023! We will have two programs.

Summer Soccer Program: Students will learn fundamentals of soccer and participate in physical activity led by coaches from the Urban Initiative. This program is open to incoming 1st-5th graders. 50 spots only!

General Summer Program: Students will enjoy a variety of activities including art, dance, physical activity. Daily schedule to be determined. Open to incoming K-8th graders.

Both programs run Monday-Thurs, from 8:30a-12:00p. Breakfast and lunch provided.

As a current or former MFS participant, we are hoping to prioritize your placement. Register now to save your spot!

Programa de Fútbol de Verano: Los estudiantes aprenderán los fundamentos del fútbol y participar en la actividad física dirigida por entrenadores de la Iniciativa Urbana. Este programa está abierto a estudiantes de 1er a 5to grado. ¡Sólo 50 plazas!

Programa general de verano: Los estudiantes disfrutarán de una variedad de actividades que incluyen arte, danza, actividad física. Horario diario por determinar. Abierto a alumnos de K-8º curso.

Ambos programas funcionan de lunes a jueves, de 8:30a-12:00p. Se proporciona desayuno y almuerzo.

Como un participante actual o anterior MFS, esperamos dar prioridad a su colocación. ¡Regístrese ahora para guardar su lugar!

We are actively recruiting 5th-8th graders to join our Guitar class on Thursdays from 3:30-5:30p! Our guitar teacher Mr. José is a graduate of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and has toured and performed all across Puerto Rico and Europe. He is an accomplished musician and won awards and scholarships from the Berklee College of Music. Please click our link to register your student today!
