Stages of Grief
The widely recognized Five Stages of Grief, developed by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, provide a framework for understanding how people process loss. Not everyone experiences all stages, and they may not occur in a linear order.
1. Denial
A defense mechanism to help numb the initial shock of loss.
Common thoughts: “This can’t be happening,” or “This isn’t real.”
2. Anger
Feelings of frustration, blame, or resentment.
Common expressions: “Why did this happen to me?” or “It’s not fair!”
3. Bargaining
Attempts to regain control by negotiating or making “deals” with a higher power or oneself.
Common thoughts: “If I do this, can I make it better?”
4. Depression
Deep sadness and withdrawal as the reality of the loss sets in.
May include fatigue, crying, or a sense of hopelessness.
5. Acceptance
Coming to terms with the loss and beginning to adapt to life without the loved one.
Common realizations: “This is my new reality, and I can find a way forward.”
Additional Considerations
Some models include other stages, such as:
Shock and Disbelief: The initial reaction to loss before denial.
Reconstruction and Working Through: Actively rebuilding life and identity post-loss.
Meaning-Making: Finding purpose or lessons in the experience of loss.
Grief is personal, and there is no “right” way to grieve.

Self awareness is vital to recovery because you live inside your own experience your body your thoughts your memories. No one else has that access. Yet healing asks a deeper question. Is the way you see yourself accurate compassionate and grounded in truth or shaped by trauma survival roles and past harm?
This conversation explores what it means to develop your best perception of yourself. Not the loudest voice but the most integrated one. The perception that separates behavior from identity aligns feelings with evidence holds both strengths and wounds and leads to responsibility without shame growth without self betrayal and accountability without self destruction.
We also explore the meaning of being at a crossroads. Far from failure crossroads are signs of recovery. They signal awareness readiness and the ability to choose consciously rather than survive reactively. Healing at your fingertips does not mean the work is easy. It means it is accessible.
The symbolism of purple anchors this discussion. Long associated with royalty wisdom and power purple represents integration passion and calm pain and meaning darkness and earned joy. It is not light happiness but sovereign joy the kind that comes after transformation self mastery and truth.
This stream is for those navigating healing leadership identity and growth especially when joy has been hard won and clarity is emerging.
Come as you are.
Pause at the crossroads.
Leave with perspective.
