Noah Levine came to Chicago from the suburbs of Boston through a fellowship program. He was placed with a nonprofit organization and part of his work was in an educational capacity, which led him to apply to Northeastern’s Daniel L. Goodwin College of Education.

Northeastern Illinois University will welcome alumna Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, Ph.D., as the speaker for its May 2026 Commencement ceremony!

Dr. Taylor has earned national literary awards and distinctions, and contributed to national publications and is widely recognized for her scholarship and public engagement. She is the author of several acclaimed books — including “Race for Profit: How Banks and the Real Estate Industry Undermined Black Homeownership.”
