This Sunday, lovers of wisdom gathered for our third Stoic Retreat.
Throughout the day, we explored the three Stoic spheres of action and reflected on how these timeless teachings can be applied in everyday life. Through games, group discussions, and practical exercises, participants had the opportunity not only to learn about Stoicism, but to put its principles into practice.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for a day of philosophy, reflection, and shared learning. We look forward to continuing the journey together at our next event.

Dear Friends, It can sometimes be challenging to explain what New Acropolis is to someone encountering it for the first time. I have been involved with the organization for more than 20 years, and it’s still sometimes hard for me to find the right words. The simple reason is that there is not much...

A delegation of members from Chicago had the privilege of participating in the 2nd New Acropolis international Week of Arts in Peru. 🤩
Members participated in workshops such as: body percussion, clown, circular dances, symbols in theater and more...
Thank you to the Peruvian school for hosting us in this great experience where we learned that art is for everyone and not just the few! 🔥🙏

This Mother's Day weekend, we celebrated the ultimate mother — Earth. 🌍
After exploring the wonders of animal migration, we turned a forgotten patch of pavement into a future flower bed to expand butterfly habitat — and upcycled plastic bottles into bird feeders to welcome our feathered friends. Small actions, big love. 🦋🐦
What else can we do to give back to Mother Earth? Drop your ideas below! 👇

A delegation from Chicago joined the New Acropolis annual international conference that took place in Antigua, Guatemala this year. 🌎
Representatives from than 50 countries met to present and discuss our activities around the world and our ongoing effort to establish a philosophy school for the 21st century in every country in the world.
A huge thanks to the volunteers of the school in Guatemala who allowed this wonderful opportunity to take place. 👏

Values & Actions / Issue No. 144, April 2026
Dear Friends, I am sometimes asked why we do not issue political statements. New Acropolis is in principle and in its bylaws an apolitical organization. We acknowledge the importance of forming opinions as part of the pursuit of truth. But philosophy also teaches us that opinions are often shaped by...

This Women’s History Month gathering hosted by the ladies of the New Acropolis school in Chicago was a deeply enriching and thoughtfully curated experience that honored both ancient wisdom and modern connection. 🌷🔥
Centered around the archetypes of the Storyteller, the Midwife, the Herbalist, and the Philosopher, the event offered participants a meaningful exploration of traditional healing roles and the feminine qualities they embody. Rather than remaining purely theoretical, these themes were brought to life through a blend of reflection, open discussion, sensory activities, and gentle movement. This immersive approach made the experience feel both grounding and transformative.
What stood out most was the intentional creation of a safe and nurturing women’s circle. The atmosphere encouraged openness, connection, and authenticity, allowing participants to reconnect not only with each other but also with aspects of themselves that are often overlooked in daily life—qualities that nurture, restore, and sustain inner balance.
The setting itself contributed to the experience, fostering a sense of beauty and calm that supported the deeper emotional and reflective work taking place. By the end of the event, there was a palpable sense of sisterhood and shared purpose.
