129 years strong. π Today we honor the legacy of the National Association of Colored Womenβs Clubs (NACWC), founded in 1896 by visionary Black women who dared to lead, organize, and uplift in the face of injustice.
With gratitude, we carry on the legacy of educators, activists, and community builders whose commitment to βLifting as We Climbβ continues to inspire generations. Hereβs to the powerful legacy of service, sisterhood, and social change. β¨

Today we honor and celebrate the freedom of our ancestors on June 19, 1865. Two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, which only freed slaves in confederate states, those in remaining states were freed. We celebrate our ancestors and our culture all year, but todayβ¦we take it up a NOTCH! Happy Juneteenth from IWDR β₯οΈ

Happy 3rd Charter Day to the Illinois Women of Diligence and Resilience Club of NACWC. 3 years ago 32 Federated Women came together to charter the FIRST State-wide Standard Adult Club so that Federated Women in the state of Illinois could have a club to call home after their collegiate journeys or for women seeking to become members of NACWC. In these 3 years, our club has serviced our communities, held numerous events, and made strides as a club. From inducting 16 amazing women 2 years ago, to now continuing to support chapters across the state/region and build a legacy our founders would be proud of. Today we celebrate IWDR π Cheers to 3 years!
