Grades PreK-3 Art For All Update! We are in our 3rd week of art instruction already. Week 1 the students celebrated Hispanic Heritage month with a mixed media collage inspired by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Week 2 the artists learned about color value to create an Aaron Douglas inspired collage. The students explored how adding black or white to a color gives it value. Week 3 (this week) is clay week! Artists will create a 3D clay version of Piet Mondrian's famous "Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow".
We will be featuring PreK-3 artwork on a bulletin board on the 1st floor throughout the Art For All program. This week is PreK Room 104 and 110.

Ms. Sterenberg, our Grade 4-8 art teacher, is wondering if anyone has an empty laundry detergent dispenser or unwanted plastic carafe with valve? It would live on the art cart and would be used for fresh water when painting. We like the idea of recycling an unwanted item for use in the classroom and wanted to check this forum before we go purchase one. Thanks!
