Learned a lot from this. Pacing and technique plays a bigger part than I prepared for. Now that I’ve ran it I think I could shave a minute off if I tried again. Next time I’ll be faster. Huge thanks to and for hosting this event!

I call it the gyroscope
After a year of slowly pushing my hands into rice and beans, my fingertips reached the hardness of wood. To achieve the next level of Stone, striking into sand begins. No matter how sharp, the tip of a spear isn’t useful if the staff is weak. So I’ll keep training calisthenics and stone lifting to develop strength and flexibility in the entire body.
Learning to jump good
Full workout:
Tempo runs: 1 minute fast 1 minute slow x10
Box jumps: 3x6
Precision jumps: 1x6
Split squats: 3x3
Nordic hamstring curls: 3x5
Hip adductor sit ups: 2x8
Split ups: 2x5
Day 2 of spamming handstands, building balance keeping my back straight. Using my head as an appendage.
The quartz was very slippery. It makes you expel a ton of energy at the start. There’s only the two hand hold for the left hand. The right is just a corner. Getting that left foot up is critical. Fun boulder.
Handstands have always been one of the hardest skills for me. So I’ve always put off training them in favor of other skills. But I saw a quote that said the results you want is in the work you’re avoiding. So let’s see what happens when I spam them for a few months.
