The UIC Drug Information Group was well-represented at the AACP Pharmacy Education 2025 meeting last week. Jen Phillips, Jess Elste, Kathy Sarna, Faria Munir, Heather Ipema, and Jackie Wasynczuk had platform presentations and/or posters presented at the meeting. Congratulations to all!
Heather Ipema, Clinical Assistant Professor and Education Coordinator within the UIC DIG, was recently appointed to serve as a member of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Educators Advisory Group on Development of Student Education and Learning Experiences for the 2025-2026 term. Congratulations, Heather!
According to a recently published paper in the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39441999/), the 31st most impactful paper for pharmacy practice was the systematic approach to drug information requests. This methodology, which was published in AJHP in 1975 (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1211401/), is still followed by our drug information faculty today!
