Harmony Learning Adventures

They teach us how thin the veil is.

How quickly a morning can divide itself
into before
and after.

They teach us that control is mostly imagined,
that certainty is a story we tell
until it isn’t.

But more than that,
they teach us how fast we reach.

Phones lighting up.
Names appearing from cities far away.
Are you safe?
before we’ve even named the fear in our own chest.

They teach us the body will scan for danger,
yes,
but it will also lean toward love.

That strangers check in.
That neighbors look up from their own lives.
That the ocean keeps breathing
and we instinctively try to match it.

What moves me most
is not the rupture.

It’s the tenderness that rises with it.
The unfiltered I love you.
The way we remember what matters
without being reminded twice.

These moments crack us open
just enough
to feel the whole thing,

fear and gratitude
fragility and strength
sirens and sunlight
all in the same ribcage.

A full human experience
is not calm without interruption.

It is interruption
and response.

It is the collective realization
that we are small
and connected
and still here

together.

🌆 Wrapping Up an Amazing Chicago Week!

Last week, our campers explored the Windy City without ever leaving camp! We kicked things off with the Chicago flag, learning what each star and stripe means before crafting our own colorful flag kites.

We took pretend bites of a Chicago-style hot dog (hold the ketchup!) while creating our own hot dog crafts, and we cheered on the Cubs with baseball games, paper plate crafts, and plenty of “Go Cubs Go!”

By the end of the week, we were skyline experts, spotting famous buildings, gluing together our own Chicago skylines, and imagining what it would be like to walk along Navy Pier under the Ferris wheel lights.

From hands-on crafts to fun facts and games, our Chicago week was a home run of learning and laughter. 🏙️⚾🌭

Thank you to all our campers and families for making it such a joyful celebration of our favorite city!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game ⚾️
What a home run of a morning! Our Cubs-themed pop-up class brought big league energy to even our littlest fans. From singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” to creating paper plate baseballs and spotting Wrigley Field and jerseys as we read Goodnight Cubs, the spirit of Chicago’s favorite team was in full swing.

We practiced our pitching skills with rolling games and cheered from our mini bleachers (aka the playmat), soaking up every moment of baseball magic.

A huge thank you to Mini Wonder for hosting us in such a joyful space. and to all the families who joined us for a morning of movement, music, and Cubs fun. We loved seeing your little ones light up with every chant and craft.

This morning’s Windy City class at Mini Wonder was a breezy delight! Little learners explored all the magic that makes Chicago unique.

Kicked off the first Preschool Prep class today with and it was a blast! 💛 So grateful for the community of women-led children’s businesses who support each other in big and small ways. It means the world to be surrounded by people who believe in the power of early learning, and in each other.

A week later and my heart’s still full of gratitude for these families! Our Chicago pop-up was pure joy, so much learning, laughter, and connection. I was too busy having fun to post in real time, but here’s a glimpse of the magic!
