This Memorial Day weekend, we’re grateful for the people who served and sacrificed for our country — and soaking in the simple joy of time together as a family.
Here are some fun things happening around Chicagoland this weekend - check out the full guide in the link in our bio.

There’s no better way to beat the Chicago heat on those 80-90 degree days than heading to the splash pad. You can find one in nearly every neighborhood if you know where to look - but if you’re new here, or just want to venture past your area - here are a few ideas!
Check our guide before you go - not all splash pads are open every day, and some open later in June while others start their splash season during Memorial Day Weekend.
Don’t forget plenty of sunscreen, water and snacks to keep kids comfortable and spirits high. Head out in the morning to tire everyone out for nap, or go to get energy out after dinner. Bring plenty of towels and a cover up or change of clothes to go home in.
Is your favorite splash pad on the list? Which ones did we miss? 👇

POV: you accidentally found the kind of forest preserve kids remember forever 🌿
Huge sledding hills, hidden creek spots, wildflowers everywhere, and trails that feel straight out of a storybook. This is your sign to slow down and let them climb rocks, pick flowers, and wander a little.
4.1 mile loop is doable with kids ages four and up, anybody younger can ride along in a carrier or stroller without tiring parents out too much. The paths and overall layout make it nearly impossible to get lost - there’s always a way back to the car.
Definitley bring a picnic and have a change of clothes / shoes ready in the car for afterwards - it gets muddy. Fishing requires a license for ages 16+ and YES the sheriff does come to check.
