Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and fellow citizens of Liberia, it is with great honor and pride that I stand before you today on this momentous occasion of Unification Day, May 14, 2024. Today, we come together to celebrate the unity and strength of our nation Liberia, to reflect on our shared history, and to look towards a brighter future.
As we gather here today, we are reminded of the struggles and sacrifices of those who came before us. From the early settlers who braved the unknown to establish our nation, to the soldiers who fought and died for our. freedom, to the leaders who worked tirelessly to bring us together as one people. Their legacy lives on in each and every one of us, and it is our duty to honor their memory by continuing to build upon the foundation they laid. My right hand salute to Our first Female President Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and her Successor, Dr. George Oppong Manneh Weah for maintaining the Peace and Stability that today we're gather here to celebrate Togetherness.
Unification Day is a time for us to come together as a nation, regardless of our differences, and to celebrate the values that bind us together. It is a time to set aside our differences and to focus on what unites us, rather than what divides us. It is a time to remember that we are all part of the same family, and that together, we are stronger than we could ever be alone.
But let us not forget that unity does not mean uniformity. We are a diverse nation, made up of people from all walks of life, with different backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives. And it is this diversity that makes us strong. It is our ability to come together, to listen to one another, to respect each other's differences, and to work towards a common goal that sets uS apart.
As we look towards the future, let us remember that the challenges we face are great, but so too are the opportunities. We live in a world that is constantly changing, where new threats and challenges emerge every day.
But we also live in a world of endless possibilities, where innovation and progress are within our reach.
It is up to us, the citizens of this great nation, to seize these opportunities, to overcome these challenges, and to build a future that is worthy of the sacrifices of those who came before us. It is up to us to ensure that the flame of unity continues to burn brightly, lighting the way for future generations. So let us come together today, not just brighter and more inclusive for all.
Kofi Annan of said "We may have different religions, different languages, different colored skin, but we all belong to one human race."
Mahatma Gandhi said "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."'
in celebration, but in dedication. Let us rededicate ourselves to the principles of unity, equality, and justice that have guided us throughout our history. Let us commit ourselves to working together, to listening to one another, and to building a future that is brighter and more inclusive for all.
On this Unification Day, let us stand united as one people, one nation, with one purpose. Let us honor the past, embrace the present, and shape the future together. Let us never forget the power of unity, and let us never lose sight of the promise of a better tomorrow.
Thank you, and may God bless Mama Liberia ✊✊✊
