It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of our beloved Andreea Mottram, a fierce advocate, a compassionate leader, and a dear friend to so many within our community. Like many of you, we are still in shock at this heartbreaking news. Andreea’s dedication to justice, equity, and human rights was not just a mission—it was the very essence of who she was.

Andreea was one of the founders of ARCHER, and her vision helped shape this organization into what it is today. She believed in the power of advocacy, in the strength of community, and in the profound impact of standing up for others. She not only built spaces for people to be seen and heard, but she also recognized potential in those around her and uplifted them. She was the one who extended an invitation to our current executive director, seeing in her a leader, an advocate, and an ally—someone who could carry forward the work that meant so much to Andreea.

Andreea’s generosity of spirit was boundless. She formed deep connections, even across distances, spending countless hours on Zoom calls and phone conversations, offering guidance, support, and encouragement. To many of us, she was a mentor, a friend, and a source of strength in difficult times. Her wisdom, especially when it came to motherhood and advocacy, left an indelible mark. Her words and actions have shaped lives, and her legacy will continue through the work we do every day.

Her loss leaves a void in our hearts, but her impact remains. We will honor Andreea by continuing the fight for human and equal rights, by lifting each other up, and by carrying forward the work she so passionately believed in. We are grateful for her leadership, her kindness, and the unwavering belief she had in the power of change.

Rest in power, Andreea. Your light will never fade.
