Illinois Tech EcoCAR LYRIQ Launch!

Our team had the opportunity this past weekend to launch the Cadillac LYRIQ to the university and community! Thank you to all in attendance for making the event a success and for taking the time to learn more about the project and sub-teams. We would also like to thank all the speakers and sponsors for their valuable contributions to the event! We deeply appreciate you generosity and support!

with Kaartikeya Gupta (KK) and Brittany Shepherd!

Kaartikeya Gupta is a 1st Year Master Student in Biomedical Engineering on the SDI Team. KK joined to gain a knowledge set about how things work in the industry and effect real change on the future of EVs! A fun fact about KK is that he is a cancer researcher by training and small business owner by profession.

Brittany Shepherd is a first year aerospace engineering student on the PCM team! Brittany joined EcoCAR to gain more experience and get better at working with others. A fun fact about Brittany is that she plays a lot of instruments!

STEM Conference at Moraine Valley Community College!

Today our team had the wonderful opportunity to present to 5th grade girls and their parents from all over the suburbs and city of Chicago! We were able to share our journey in EcoCAR as well as our journey as women in STEM. We want to extend a special thank you to Mary Schoenheider and all organizers for planning this wonderful event!

This past Tuesday, our team had the opportunity to attend and table at Just DePaul’s Sustainability Celebration!

We were happy to share our goals and mission within this community. Seeing all the other organizations was inspiring as well! Thank you for hosting!

Antonia Martinez is a second year finance major on the Communications Team! She joined EcoCAR because she is excited about the project. A fun fact about her is that she has a twin!

Aidan Gans is a fifth year electrical engineering major on the Business Management team and CAV team! He joined EcoCAR because the electric automotive industry has always been something he’s been interested in! He saw it as an opportunity to get started in the industry as well as bettering himself as an engineer and manager! A fun fact about Aidan is he has climbed the highest mountain in the contiguous US!

Theodora: “I joined EcoCAR because I am interested in joining the automotive field after college. EcoCAR presents a multitude of experiences in the field as well as giving students similar experiences as a stem professional!”

Carter: “To learn more about the current automotive industry in order to prepare myself for the work in industry!”

Today, we highlight Aiden Verdin, Second Year Electrical Engineering Student and PCM Member on the IIT EcoCAR Team. Over the summer, he had the opportunity to intern at AAM: American Axle and Manufacturing as a Systems Validation Engineer, a sponsor of the EcoCAR EV Challenge.
