🥎💙 Celebrating Our 8th-Grade Lady Spartans & a Great Season! 💙🥎

The CHMS Girls Softball team celebrated a memorable season on Wednesday, September 2, with a special Alumni Scrimmage honoring our 8th-grade Lady Spartans! 🎉

It was a fun-filled afternoon of softball, special gifts, plenty of laughs, and pizza for everyone as current players, alumni, coaches, and families came together to celebrate our 8th graders and another great season. 🥎🍕💙

A HUGE thank you to Coach Ana, Coach Estrada, Coach Murphy, and Coach Ron for their time, leadership, and dedication—and to our families and fans for supporting our Lady Spartans all season long! 👏

But we’re not finished yet! Regional play is up next! 🥎🔥

🎉🐾 Kennedy School Is Learning, Leading & Showing Our PAWS! 🐾🎉

On Friday, August 28, Kennedy School students kicked off the year with an exciting PBIS School-Wide Expectations Kickoff!

Students rotated through stations throughout the school and on the playground to learn and review expectations and the positive character traits that help create a safe, respectful, and welcoming school community. 🌟

Our 5th-grade students stepped into leadership roles, helping read and explain expectations to their fellow students. As part of PBIS, students can earn PAWS when recognized for demonstrating positive behaviors and making great choices. 🐾👏

And to celebrate a successful kickoff, every student received a special treat! ✨

What a great way to start the year—learning expectations, building community, and celebrating positive choices together! 💙

El viernes 28 de agosto, los estudiantes de Kennedy School comenzaron el año con una emocionante actividad de PBIS para aprender y repasar las expectativas de toda la escuela.

Los estudiantes participaron en diferentes estaciones por toda la escuela y en el patio de recreo para aprender y repasar las expectativas y los valores positivos que ayudan a crear una comunidad escolar segura, respetuosa y acogedora. 🌟

Nuestros estudiantes de 5.º grado asumieron roles de liderazgo, ayudando a leer y explicar las expectativas a sus compañeros. Como parte de PBIS, los estudiantes pueden ganar PAWS cuando son reconocidos por demostrar comportamientos positivos y tomar buenas decisiones. 🐾👏

¡Y para celebrar un comienzo exitoso, cada estudiante recibió un premio especial! ✨

📚💚 15,200+ Books, Countless Stories, and a Whole Lot of Joy! 💚📚

A heartfelt and HUGE THANK YOU to everyone at Bernie’s Book Bank who makes our incredible yearly book delivery possible! What a wonderful way to begin a new school year and celebrate the joy of reading across CHSD 170! 📖✨

Last week, every CHSD 170 student in PreK through 6th grade received a bright green bag filled with eight books of their very own—that’s more than 15,200 books going home with our students! 💚

These books are theirs to read, share and enjoy with their families, and keep as part of their own home libraries. Each bag opens the door to new stories, new adventures, and more opportunities for our students to grow as readers.

To the entire Bernie’s Book Bank team—THANK YOU for your generosity, your partnership, and your commitment to putting books directly into the hands of children. Most of all, thank you for sharing the joy and love of reading with our students and families year after year! 💚📚

The classrooms are buzzing, the hallways are full of smiles, and Grant School staff and students are excited to be back together for another great school year! 🎒✨

From reconnecting with friends and teachers to settling into new classrooms and routines, our Grant School community is already off to a fantastic start.

💙🎉 Welcome Back, CHMS Spartans! 🎉💙

CHMS kicked off the new school year with a whole-school, student-centered Welcome Back Assembly designed to bring our Spartans together and start the year with a strong sense of community!

Through interactive activities, students connected with one another while focusing on belonging, school pride, positive relationships, and what it means to be part of the CHMS community. It was a great way to celebrate being back together and set a positive tone for the year ahead. 🙌💙

📸 And there was even more student talent behind the scenes! Our designated Media Production students took all the photos from the assembly shared in this social post, giving them the chance to put their skills to work while capturing the day's excitement through a student lens.
