Something that I'm doing is taking advantage of new low cost online offerings. Today I enjoyed a class from Magu Yoga, a studio in Philly that I've always wanted to visit. The best part is I watched it while drinking my coffee. 😎
Don't worry I will add movement later, but it was comforting in the moment and a way to contribute financially and put good energy out there.
Also it reminds me that the yoga world is still turning and maybe don't just lay around reading scary stuff and eating three breakfasts. 💙

There will be no regular weekly yoga classes until further notice. That's the yucky news that I didn't want to say.

However...the better news. We cannot and will not limit connection and we need it more than ever. I'm still processing this rapidly changing, unprecedented time, as we all are, so be kind to yourselves and your fellow humans.

Do be mindful of asking about the quote below if you're unfamiliar, no judgement but you'll need to have 2-4 hours available for me to provide context. 😆

Be well. xo, Dannielle

I'm a hugger by nature, however I adjusted that a bazillion days ago because my house has been enjoying confirmed influenza A (that's a thing we say now) and couple secondary infections of pneumonia. We're still not completely "back", if that's even real, or possible, and if so who defines it?......but I think the worst (of this round) is over. I want to thank my ever wonderful and loyal yoga crew for always being so generous and understanding as I show up differently or not at all. Navigating this human/mom/boss babe balance is always a little precarious even in the best of circumstances.
Whether you are worried right now or not or something in between, I hope we continue to be kind when people react more or differently than we do.
I've noticed something, though. We love to say, "I couldn't possibly cancel." Or, "I HAVE to go."

We can.
We don't.
We are no longer asking permission to excuse ourselves, individually or collectively, for all manner of reasons and perspectives.
VERY IMPORTANT THINGS are being canceled and postponed all over, including things I was very much looking forward to for myself and people I love.
And it's okay.
We are all okay.

You are going to have to go out at some point so hit up your local and small businesses. Get some takeout, buy some gift cards to use later, we need safe connection to our communities more than ever, and they need our love. 💙

We had the most fun at Yoga & Wine Saturday! I've done dozens of these and they just get better! The new space at 101 is really special. I love it so much.
More yoga tomorrow at 9 am! Tiger Martial Arts, Chesterton.

Reminder: when Duneland schools have a delay or cancellation, like they do today, there is unfortunately NO YOGA.

Spring is coming, friends!

2 hour Delay for Duneland and a Travel Advisory, no yoga today. Be safe.

This ad has scrolled across my instagram several times and I typed out this whole caption with many CAPITALS and "Just No"-s and phrases like "optimal movement patterns" and blah blah, and then I remembered how I walked around totally unaware with a crazy anterior pelvic tilt, and no engagement in my lats ever, and it took me 5 years to find my serratus anterior......

A balanced body can move in some pretty wild ways and we shouldn't be frightened of that. The body is a miraculous movement machine. Fascinating, powerful, and complex. And also......

It can be delicate, and fussy, and sensitive.

Like everything on this Earth, really. So I might ask some questions. Does this model have any pain or discomfort anywhere? Is she aware her pelvis is tilted? Can she find neutral pelvis and stay there if she wants to? Does the core feel engaged and if not, what does engagement feel like? Would it be more comfortable to have the shoulders away from the ears? Can the shoulder blades rotate? What are her goals for movement and do they involve weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, pull ups, and so forth? You know.....

Stuff like that. 💙

Aggressive exclamation points! 😎😆
