The mission of the Chelsea Education Foundation is to enhance the Chelsea School District's educational experiences by financing projects beyond the resources of the District and by providing scholarships to District graduates. Contributions to CEF are given back into the Chelsea community through grants to teachers and other educators as well as scholarships for area college students.

The Monsters Are Back! 👹🎨

After a long pause during COVID, the Monster Project has returned, thanks to a $500 CEF Grant, bringing together young artists across Chelsea!

In this beloved collaboration, North Creek 2nd graders design their own monsters, and Chelsea High School ceramics students bring them to life in clay. Each trimester ends with a special celebration where the high schoolers hand-deliver the sculptures to their young creators.

It’s creativity, mentorship, and pure joy rolled into one monstrously magical tradition! 💙

Play, Learn, and Grow Together! 🧩💙

A $4,900 CEF Teacher Grant is helping North Creek Elementary’s Kindergarten team create classrooms that nurture both hearts and minds. Through sensory tools, STEM/STEAM kits, and purposeful play materials, students will have daily opportunities to explore, problem-solve, and collaborate, all while building the 4 C’s from Chelsea’s Portrait of a Graduate: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.

This project bridges social-emotional learning and academic growth, showing that when play has purpose, learning thrives. 🌱✨

Little hands, big growth! ✋🌱

Thanks to a $4,600 CEF Teacher Grant, North Creek Elementary’s Young 5’s and Kindergarten classrooms are getting new fine motor development tools designed for hands-on learning during center time. These activities help children build the skills that form the foundation for writing, self-care, and independence, while also supporting their cognitive and social-emotional growth. It’s learning through play, and play that lasts a lifetime. 💛

Thanks to a $2,000 CEF Teacher Grant, North Creek Elementary’s 1st grade classrooms are getting six new Big Book Stands that are sturdy, safe displays built to hold those oversized classroom favorites. This investment will protect the school’s beloved book collection for years to come, ensuring that the stories that spark imagination stay in great condition for every new reader. ❤️📚
