This week we are deeply saddened to hear the news that Vigil Honor member Wayne Ames passed away. Wayne was a dedicated Scouter, and a Vigil Honor member from back in the 90s.

Please extend our heartfelt sympathies to Wayne's family, if you have the chance to speak with them.

Of Angola, NY, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Autumn View Health Care Facility; he was 79. Beloved wife of Sharon Ames. Loving father of Julie Ames, Wayne “Champ” (Theresa) Ames, and Robert Ames. Brother of the late Arthur, Robert, and Patricia Ames. Cherished grandfather of Jared Ames. Friends may call Sunday from 2 PM- 6 PM at the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 262 N. Main St., Angola, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in Most Precious Blood Church. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Wayne spent over 40 Years as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America and was the founding father of Boy Scout Troop 421, in 1993 out of St. Anthony’s Church. He was also a member of the Knights of St. John. Interment will be in the First Church of Evans Cemetery.

We are deeply saddened to hear that we have lost another Brother and Scouter Alfred (Al) Jakubowski, Father to Nick and Casey, he was a Brotherhood member from the early 2000's who was very active for many years.
