September is Su***de Prevention Month and the Maryvale Varsity Volleyball Team is hosting the "Shine the Light on Mental Health" event on Tuesday September 22nd. Just when the caterpillar thought the world was ending, they turned into a butterfly. Every student in our Maryvale community deserves every chance to become a beautiful butterfly. Students and staff are welcome to wear purple and/or teal on Tuesday September 22nd to show their support for mental health. What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor, and more unashamed conversations. Hope to see you there.

The Ford Driver Skills for Life Teen program is coming back to Erie County again this year. It is a FREE program and will be held July 25 + 26 at the Erie Community College North Campus. Ford did the event last year at UB and it is an absolutely terrific event, which involves both teen drivers and their parents. This is conducted through the Ford Foundation and is not a sales pitch for vehicles or the Ford Brand. It consists of interactive participation, mostly hands-on, along with some short classroom safety presentations.
