Can't agree more. Whether it is Tango or any other discipline/art we are learning, we need to let go what we already know and open space for the new information. And just be there in every step of the process. 🖤

Argentine Tango performance at the Grand Opening of Emilie Cole Studios!
This is just the beginning of great things that we are preparing for Chattanooga. We want more people to know about Tango and experience this wonderful dance! 💃🏽🖤
Thank you so much for dancing with me and trusting in my tango, for opening the doors of your studio to Tango, for all your hard work, and for building a bridge between ballroom and tango!

As a teacher, my approach to tango is rooted in clarity, structure, and presence. I believe tango is best learned by building a solid foundation — one that supports confidence, creativity, and authentic expression over time.

In my classes, we work progressively, combining:

* Clear structure and technique
* Body awareness and connection
* Musical understanding
* Improvisation and personal expression

Rather than simply memorizing sequences, students learn how tango works. They learn sequences by understanding them, breaking them down into their fundamental elements — gaining the tools to adapt, combine, and create their own dance with intention.

These classes are open to anyone curious about Argentine tango — whether you’re taking your first steps or looking to deepen your understanding. Each class offers space to learn at your own pace, be challenged where you are, and enjoy the process of moving, listening, and dancing together.

Starting in February, I’ll be offering weekly Argentine Tango classes in Chattanooga:

📍 Location: Emilie Cole Studios (St. Elmo, Chattanooga)
🗓️ Thursdays 7:30 p.m.
⏱ Duration: 1 hour

What we’ll work on:

• Foundational tango steps
Paso Básico, Ochos, Giros, Parada, Pasadas
(including variations and simple combinations)

• Technique
Individual technique and partner technique
Balance, posture, weight transfer, and clarity of movement

• Improvisation & Expression
Learning to play, create, and move with freedom
Developing presence, confidence, and dialogue in the dance

• Musicality
How to listen and interpret tango music
Differences between orchestras
Tango, Vals, and Milonga rhythms

More details coming soon.
I look forward to dancing together. 🖤

My mentors: Gloria & Rodolfo Dinzel:

One of the most influential tango couples and educators in Argentine tango history. They were part of the original cast of “Tango Argentino”, the legendary show that premiered on Broadway in 1985 and introduced authentic Argentine tango to audiences around the world. Their work was also presented on some of the most important stages, including the Kennedy Center.

Beyond performance, Los Dinzel dedicated their lives to researching, teaching, and transmitting tango. In Buenos Aires, they founded Estudio Dinzel and later the University of Tango (CETBA), where they developed the Dinzel System — a structured pedagogical approach to tango.

The Dinzel System is based on understanding tango as an improvised dance, rooted in clear principles of movement, body awareness, communication between partners, musicality, and creative freedom. Rather than memorizing figures, dancers learn how tango works, so they can build their own movement language with clarity and intention.

They were not only extraordinary artists, but also profound thinkers and teachers. Their legacy continues through generations of dancers and educators around the world.

My path as a tango teacher is rooted in a long journey of movement and study. I began dancing at a young age, training in ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, belly dance, and theater, which gave me a strong foundation in body awareness, movement quality, and expression.

In 2009, I began training at the Studio Dinzel and the University of Tango in Buenos Aires, completing the three-year Tango Instructor program based on the Dinzel System, which remains the foundation of my tango pedagogy.

Alongside my studies, I spent nearly eight years training and teaching at Studio Dinzel. After completing the instructor career, I began teaching at the University of Tango (C.E.T.B.A), offering classes in different subjects until I left Buenos Aires.

During the decade I lived in Buenos Aires, I also taught independently, led workshops, and traveled to dance and teach in Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru, and the United States.

This ongoing process of study, teaching, and practice shapes the way I teach today — with clarity, structure, and respect for each dancer’s learning process.

Welcome to my tango space.
I’m Diana Suárez, a tango dancer and teacher since 2010, trained in Buenos Aires and shaped by years of teaching and dancing across South America and the United States.

Tango has been my path for more than a decade — a path built on technique, improvisation, connection, musicality, and the quiet dialogue between two bodies moving as one.

Today I’m in Chattanooga, where I’m sharing this dance with a fresh and open perspective. My approach is rooted in body awareness, clear technique, and the beauty of simple steps, creating a foundation where confidence and connection can grow naturally.

I’m excited to continue this journey here — teaching, dancing, and slowly building a community that feels the heart of authentic tango

Thank you for joining me on this journey.
Let’s dance. 🖤
