Kappa Alpha Order - Zeta Upsilon

On April 24–25, our chapter had the opportunity to serve alongside Junior Achievement of Chattanooga by helping load and unload vans for their “Auction Party.” We’re grateful to support organizations that make a positive impact in the Chattanooga community.

APRIL BROTHER OF THE MONTH
Name: Emerson Shuping
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Also part of the UTC honors college.

Why Emerson rushed KA: “ I rushed KA because it was the only frat that felt like a genuine group of guys that I had a connection with”

Emerson rushed in the fall 25’ and has done a great job with organizing community service hours for our brothers. Thank you Emerson for your hard work and proven ability to what else you can achieve for this chapter!

Huge congratulations to our very own chapter advisor Jerry Rutherford for being granted The Knight Commanders Award.

It was an honour having the knight commander himself and the national office come down to Chattanooga to give Jerry this outstanding award. Thanks for everything you do for this chapter Jerry!

Why Hinton rushed KA: “I rushed KA because of the strong brotherhood all of the brothers had, and it made me want to be involved and a part of it.”

Hinton rushed in the Fall 23’ and has proven to be a big help in organizing our formal trip and keeping our brotherhood close. Thank you Hinton!

FEBRUARY BROTHER OF THE MONTH

Why Evan rushed KA: “I rushed because I saw how tight knit the brotherhood was, everyone seemed like they genuinely liked each other and It made me want to be apart of it.”

Evan rushed in the Fall 24’ and has proven to everyone at KA that he is a true leader that will push everyone around him to be better. Congratulations Evan!

This weekend our officers attended the Officers Training Conference in Atlanta, GA. They learned how to run their positions to the best of their ability. We are excited to implement these lessons in our own chapter.

JANUARY BROTHER OF THE MONTH
Name: Caden Walling
Major: Mechanical engineering
Hometown: Ringgold, GA
Why Caden rushed KA: “I rushed KA because of the brotherhood and the people that were involved carried themselfs with a high standard while keeping god as #1. From the first night I visited I knew it was where I was meant to be. I rushed during the spring because I wasn’t sure if Greek life was for me but ever since then it has been the greatest decision I have made and truly has given me a second home. ”

Caden was initiated in Spring 2025 and has been a true representation of our values here at KA. Thanks for everything you do here for KA Caden!
