Hixson Middle School recently celebrated a milestone with its first D.A.R.E. graduation in partnership with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

A total of 160 students completed the program this year, building skills that support healthy choices, confidence, and positive decision-making. By the end of the school year, more than 1,100 students across the county will have completed D.A.R.E. since the program’s reinstatement in 2022.

Thank you to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, School Resource Deputy and D.A.R.E. Instructor Monica Mills, and the Hixson Middle School staff for their continued commitment to student safety and success.

Winter break is a great time for connection and fun! Why not mix in a little learning, too?🥣🍫

Students from The Howard School and Battle Academy enjoyed a sweet, hands-on experience baking Superintendent Dr. Robertson’s mother’s secret brownie recipe alongside her.

With guidance from Patrick Kirby, Culinary Arts teacher at Howard, and Janice Robertson, students mixed, baked, and made memories in Howard's commercial-grade kitchen!
