My name is Zac, I’m 29 years old and the proud father of a beautiful baby girl. After high school, I had the opportunity to play collegiate golf, but I only remained for one semester, as choices I made at the time led me away from the sport and my education.
For years, those choices left me struggling and significantly impacted my ability to stay focused and committed, and began to shape nearly every part of my life.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful to have a renewed sense of purpose and clarity. Through the support of my family and the Tennessee Reconnect program, I’ve been given the chance to start again with intention.
Without a degree, I found myself limited in the opportunities available. I worked hard with little growth, stability, or fulfillment. Those experiences showed me how education can open doors—professionally and personally.
I have a deep gratitude for TN Reconnect which has given my family and me something incredibly meaningful: hope for a more stable and fulfilling future.
I want my daughter to look at me and see someone who didn’t give up, even after making mistakes and facing difficult seasons. Because of TN Reconnect, I believe in my education again, in myself, and in what’s possible for my family.
To anyone who is just starting school, returning after time away, or even considering leaving—please know that the choices you make today truly matter, and you owe it to yourself to try your best.

Jacquelin always knew she wanted to work with children. After earning her associate and bachelor's degrees, she realized she wanted to make an even deeper impact—helping students beyond the classroom.
That’s what brought her back to ChattState. By focusing on the social work side of education, she discovered her true calling and a path where she can support, encourage, and advocate for young people every day. 💙
