🌟 Weekly Roundup at Transition2Work 🌟

What We Did This Week
🛒 Monday:
We went on Walmart.com to research how much each ingredient costs to make cookies. This helped interns practice budgeting, planning, and comparing prices.
🎤 Tuesday:
Daryl and Yobanny presented their “This Is Me” presentations and did a great job sharing about themselves with confidence!
🏝 Wednesday:
Lisa led a fun lesson on “What would you need if you were stranded on an island?” Interns worked on decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritizing needs vs. wants.
🔄 Thursday:
We focused on a flexibility lesson, along with practicing multi-step directions—important skills for both the classroom and workplace.
🚶♂️ Friday:
We went to the Tennessee Riverwalk from the Blue Goose Hollow Trail entrance and walked about 3 miles! This was a great way to build endurance, teamwork, and community navigation skills.
We are so proud of the continued effort and growth from our interns each week. Keep up the amazing work! 💙

What We Did This Week
💼 Monday & Thursday:
We had guest speakers from BlueCross BlueShield who taught interns all about resumes—what to include, how to stand out, and why they’re so important when applying for jobs.
🎤 Tuesday:
Cady and Michaela presented their “This Is Me” presentations. They did an amazing job sharing about themselves and building confidence speaking in front of others!
📝 Wednesday:
MC taught interns how to create a resume, giving them hands-on practice with an important real-world skill.
🎉 Friday:
We wrapped up an incredible experience with the Bryan College student teachers, who completed their final project with our interns. To celebrate, we had a friendship party with pizza, drinks, and cookies—all of which interns budgeted for at Publix!
We are so thankful for the time, effort, and support the Bryan College students gave our interns. It was truly an unforgettable experience, especially our time spent together at Coolidge Park. 💙
We’re so proud of the growth, teamwork, and independence our interns continue to show each week!

🌸 Weekly Roundup at Transition2Work 🌸
Updates: No school tomorrow for Good Friday! We hope everyone has a restful three-day weekend and a happy Easter!
What We Did This Week
Monday: We worked on interview skills with Lisa and Mark, and we also had a guest speaker come talk about the effects of ni****ne and to***co.
Tuesday: Thane and Nathan presented their presentations and did a great job speaking in front of the class and teaching their topics.
Wednesday: Lisa taught a lesson on how to respond in different situations, helping interns practice appropriate responses, communication, and social skills.
Thursday: We made granola brownie bites with Nikki and worked on cooking skills, following directions, and teamwork in the kitchen.
We are proud of the hard work the interns continue to show each week. We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend! 🐣🌷

🌸 at Transition2Work 🌸
We had a great week getting back into the routine after Spring Break! Reminder! We do not have school on Friday, April 3 for Good Friday!
What We Did This Week
🔄 Tuesday: We returned from Spring Break and jumped right back into job placements! MC also worked with interns on how to prepare for the permit test and where to use a free practice test—such an important step toward independence.
🎤 Wednesday: Lisa taught a lesson on interviewing skills, and interns participated in mock interviews to practice answering questions and presenting themselves professionally.
💵 Thursday: We focused on money math, continuing to build confidence with budgeting and everyday financial skills.
🛒👕 Friday: We met up with the Bryan College student teachers, who are helping us plan a party! We went to Publix and a thrift store to practice budgeting and learn how to choose appropriate clothing for an outdoor event. Lots of great real-world decision making!
We’re so proud of how quickly our interns jumped back in after break and the effort they’re showing every day. We can’t wait to see what next week brings! 💙

🌼 Weekly Roundup at Transition2Work 🌼
Next week is Spring Break, and interns will return on March 24. We are so proud of the hard work and growth the interns continue to show each week!
What We Did This Week
🩺 Monday: We had a guest speaker return to talk more about the effects of ni****ne and to***co and how they impact our health.
🤔 Tuesday: Daryl led his lesson on “Would You Rather?” It was a fun way to practice communication, decision-making, and getting everyone involved in the discussion. Great job, Daryl!
📝 Wednesday: Lisa taught interns how to read and write a check, an important life skill for managing money and paying bills.
🛒 Thursday: We “went” shopping in the classroom! Interns used prop money to buy groceries and practiced money math while staying within a budget.
🎲 Friday: We focused on social skills by playing games together and ended the day by cooking sausage and biscuits as a group.

🌟 Weekly Roundup at Transition2Work 🌟
We had another great week with our interns learning important life and job skills!
Monday: We had a guest speaker from the Health Department who talked about the effects of ni****ne and to***co and how these substances can impact our health.
Tuesday: We worked on emotional regulation, learning different strategies interns can use to manage their emotions in challenging situations.
Wednesday: Lisa taught a lesson on self-advocacy and how to speak up for yourself, especially in school, work, and everyday situations.
Thursday: We practiced cooking pancakes, working on following directions, measuring ingredients, and kitchen safety.
Friday: We went to Colledge Park and partnered with Bryan College student teachers to learn how to plan for a party. Wheb we came back, we learned how to make pound cake and milkshakes, which was a fun way to practice teamwork and cooking skills.
Great job to all of our interns this week! We are proud of the hard work, teamwork, and enthusiasm everyone continues to show. We can’t wait to see what next week brings! 👏

A huge shoutout to Marcus for completing his first week at his paid job 👏 We are so proud of you, Marcus—keep up the hard work!
Monday: We had a guest speaker come in to talk about resources for building healthy relationships and where to find support in the community.
Tuesday: Yobanny taught a lesson about exercise and the importance of staying active.
Wednesday: Lisa taught interns how to take phone messages, practicing important workplace communication skills.
Thursday: Mikayla taught a lesson about permits and driver’s licenses, what they are, and the steps needed to obtain them.
Friday: We visited different coffee shops and practiced navigating to each location—building independence and real-world travel skills.

🌟 PATHWAYS CONFERENCE: A Transition Fair & Mini-Conference 🌟
Join us on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Erlanger Health Science Center on the campus of Chattanooga State Community College (4501 Amnicola Hwy, Chattanooga, TN).
This event is designed to support students, families, and educators as they navigate transition planning and explore community resources. Come connect with local agencies, learn about post-secondary opportunities, and gather valuable information to help plan for the future.
We hope to see you there! Please share with anyone who may benefit. 💙

🌟 Weekly Roundup at Transition2Work 🌟
We are so happy to have seen everyone at our Open House and want to send a huge thank you to our families for their continued support of their interns. We couldn’t do this without you!
Monday: We had a two-hour delay, so we stayed in and made taco soup together—great teamwork and cooking skills all around!
Tuesday & Thursday: We spent time preparing for our Open House. Interns helped make chocolate pudding and peanut butter fudge, cleaned classrooms, and worked hard to get everything ready.
Wednesday: Lisa taught a lesson on the difference between wages and salary, helping interns understand how pay can look different depending on the job.
Friday: We went out for community-based instruction at Food City, Family Dollar, and Coin Laundry. This was the last Friday rotation, and all interns have now experienced all three locations—awesome job stepping out of comfort zones!

This week was a short week due to the cold weather, but we still packed in lots of meaningful learning and hands-on experiences!

What We Learned This Week
🎲 Friday Morning:
Marcus taught his lesson on Greedy Pig, and he did a great job leading the group and explaining the game. It was a fun way to practice turn-taking, decision-making, and teamwork!
💼 Thursday:
Lisa led an engaging lesson called “Which Job Makes More Money?”, where interns compared careers, discussed wages, and learned how income impacts everyday choices.
🛒🧺 Friday – Small Group Rotations:
Interns split into groups to focus on different life skills:
• Food City: Interns chose items from the store and worked together to cut and make a fruit salad.
• Dollar General: Interns made hygiene kits, practicing budgeting and organization.
• Coin Laundry: Interns received one-on-one instruction on using washers and dryers and properly folding towels, pants, and shirts.
In the afternoon, we reflected together on our time in the groups and shared what we learned.

We had a full week packed with learning, fun, and real-world life skills!
What We Did This Week
🏞 Monday:
We welcomed a guest speaker from Therapeutic Recreation, who shared all about fun and inclusive activities interns can do in the community—like rock climbing, going to the zoo, and more!
💃 Tuesday:
Cady taught her lesson on Freeze Dance, and she did an amazing job! We had so much fun moving, laughing, and staying engaged—great leadership, Cady!
🌳 Wednesday:
Lisa led a refresher lesson, giving interns time to finish and expand on their “ME Trees.” This allowed them to dive deeper into self-reflection and personal growth.
🧼 Thursday:
We learned how to do laundry—sorting colors, loading washers and dryers, measuring detergent, and understanding why each step matters.
🛒🍕 Friday – Community-Based Instruction:
We visited the laundromat, Dollar General to build hygiene kits, and Food City, where interns practiced grocery shopping and followed a store recipe to make biscuit pizzas.
📌 Reminder: There is no school on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We’ll see everyone back on Tuesday!

❄️ at Transition2Work ❄️
This week marked our first week back from Winter Break, and it was great to jump back into routines! Interns returned to job placements, and they did an awesome job getting back into the swing of things. We’re so proud of how smoothly they transitioned back to work!
What We Did This Week
🌳 Wednesday:
Lisa led a meaningful lesson on self-reflection, where interns explored their challenges, strengths, goals, and fears for the future. They created their own “ME Trees”, which was a great way to visually represent personal growth and self-awareness.
🛒 Thursday:
We practiced pre-shopping online, learning how to plan ahead, compare prices, and budget before heading to the store.
🍽 Friday – Community-Based Instruction:
We visited Food City to buy ingredients for quesadillas, then headed back to cook together! Interns used a griddle and worked as a team to assemble and enjoy their homemade quesadillas—such a fun and hands-on life skills lesson!
We’re excited to see everything the interns accomplished this week and hope everyone had a restful and fun Winter Break. Let’s keep the momentum going! 💪✨
