- Monticello. Darden organizes a trip to Monticello for the batch, which gives us an up-close and personal look at the founding father of UVA, and infact the USA (third President of the United States), Thomas Jefferson.
An interesting contradiction of a man, this man of science and Enlightenment authored the Declaration of Independence and yet owned hundreds of slaves in his grounds at Monticello.

- This is the motto of the pretty state of Virginia. Can you guess what the picture depicts/the phrase refers to? No googling, take your best shot!
Clue: the phrase was uttered by one of the parties depicted in the motto, and has been consistently overshadowed in history by the other party's significantly more famous last words...

- exploring Charlottesville and the University of Virginia (UVA). It's not everyday you walk into history (UVA's been around since 1819!) and bump into Thomas Jefferson around every corner.
