VIA’s impact extends far beyond the services provided within our centers. By supporting individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities, empowering families, partnering with schools and community organizations, and advocating for greater inclusion, VIA helps build communities where people with disabilities are valued, supported, and able to participate fully.

At each of our campuses, we model what inclusive communities can look like, creating environments where individuals with disabilities are welcomed, respected, and celebrated for who they are. Through our programs, we demonstrate the value of inclusion in action, helping foster greater awareness, understanding, acceptance, and belonging.

Ultimately, VIA’s community impact is measured not only by the number of people we serve, but by the opportunities those services create: greater independence for individuals, greater confidence and support for families, stronger schools and community partnerships, and communities where people with disabilities are recognized as valued members who offer meaningful contributions.

From hands-on science to homemade pizza, Lynchburg’s Club & Hub participants have been busy! Recent highlights include a trip to the Danville Science Center and a hands-on Cooking Club session in our vocational teaching kitchen, where participants learned about nutrition, meal planning, and following recipes.

Our adult programs empower individuals with autism and related neurodevelopmental disabilities to live, work, and play fully within their communities. Through VIA Club & Hub, participants build lasting friendships, boost their well-being, engage in civic activities, and express creativity.

When one part of our community needs extra love, our learners step up.

Our Lexington VIA Day School staff and learners created posters to show support and encouragement for our neighbors at Westwood Elementary in Waynesboro. Because VIA partners closely with our local school districts, and many of our families have loved ones in public schools, these connections mean the world to us.

We are so proud of our students' compassion, and we're grateful to be part of such a tight-knit, caring community.

Your support changes lives every day. Across each of VIA's programs, children and adults are building skills, gaining independence, and reaching important milestones through compassionate, evidence-based services. VIA’s adult services help the individuals we serve live, work, and play to the fullest extent in their communities.

This past fiscal year, our adult services provided 134 adults with individualized services that promoted independence, purpose, and community connection. Through community outings in Club & Hub and employment support with Achieve Employment, our adult participants are actively engaged in the world around them.

We'll see you Sunday, Roanoke!

Join us THIS SUNDAY for the Inaugural 5PTS Art Harvest!

Local artists, makers, and vendors will be on hand throughout the day, along with food and drinks from Southern Belle Biscuits, KEFI -Greek food with passion, Covenant Coffee, the 5PTS Mimosa Bar, and more.

Music, Community & the 5PTS Dog Walk
The day will feature live music and programming throughout the afternoon, beginning with a VIA Open Mic Session from 12:15–1:30 PM featuring musicians with VIA.

At 1:45 PM, Lucky Evermore will take the stage, followed by the 5PTS Dog Walk at 2:30 PM.

🐕The Dog Walk will be a short community parade through the Dog Bowl featuring handmade instruments, artwork, bubbles, costumes, giant 5PTS heads, and, of course, plenty of dogs.

✨Dog costumes are highly encouraged ✨

The afternoon will wrap up with the The Riverside String Band, featuring Paul Dempsey, from 3–4 PM.

🎨Create a Piece of Something Bigger
Throughout the day, guests will have the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale community mural with support from Artform Signs. The guided paint-by-number project will give everyone a chance to add their own piece to a collaborative work of art.

Supporting VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment
A portion of proceeds from Art Harvest will benefit VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment. VIA will also have a presence throughout the event with its VIA Press Shop, where custom Art Harvest shirts, totes, and other merchandise will be made onsite.
