Lugo-McGinness Academy is a small, non-traditional academic program that serves Charlottesville City Schools students in grades 8-12.

Students may self-select or be referred for admission to the program.

🎓senior brunch 🍽️ yesterday at the ridley.
every year, lma seniors have a lineup of special activities & events planned for them to celebrate their graduation.
this brunch event wasn’t one of them.
how did we end up at brunch with lma & knight school seniors yesterday?
because they asked for it.
because they wanted to go out together, sit together, share a meal together, & be together.
the camaraderie among this senior class is really special — & it shows.✨🥹

“spring the lawn” was a fantastic event focused on health & wellness.
students practised cpr with local medical professionals, made delicious & nutritious smoothies, & played outside in the beautiful spring afternoon!

last week, trailblazer elementary kindergarteners & 1st graders came over to lugo for a literacy day with our high schoolers.📚
we read, colored, & laughed together (psa: “6-7” is still going strong in the younger grades).
