Jo Frost, the UK TV personality behind the hit show "Supernanny," is calling out modern parents in a viral Instagram video, and the list of offenses is long. Kids still in strollers when they should be walking. Four-year-olds with pacifiers. Seven-year-olds who need an electric toothbrush to brush their teeth. Eight-year-olds who can't use a knife and fork. Nine-year-olds with no grasp of basic bathroom hygiene. Frost's reaction: "When did we stop teaching these life skills?"
Appearing on Fox & Friends, Frost said she receives emails daily from parents whose kids are struggling with the most basic tasks, all because parents keep stepping in. Her message is direct: "You have to allow them to struggle a little bit." She warned that constantly doing everything for children breeds dependency, not strength, and is quietly building a fragile generation.
Her fix is not complicated. Go back to basics. Hygiene, chores, table manners, tying shoelaces, riding bikes, playing outside. Frost argues this is not about having more time but about having more intention. "Every time we step in and do it for them," she said, "we take away an opportunity for them to become capable, and children want to feel capable."
