The spring season is off to a fast start. Four weeks in and the men’s and women’s teams have played a combined six tournaments. This weekend will see both teams back in action. The men are heading to Goldsboro, NC and the women are on their way to Greenwood, SC. Updates to follow.
If you have missed any of the teams recent news, the ladies competed at The Battle of Hilton Head. This tournament marked the college debut for 3 freshmen on the team. They followed Hilton Head with a tournament closer to home, in Monroe.
The men’s team opened their season in Greenwood, SC. They followed this event with a 2nd Place finish at the Cherokee Valley Invitational. Senior Tanner Bibey added a 2nd place finish individually. Senior AJ Boyd also recorded a hole in one during the tournament practice round.
Both the Men’s and Women’s teams both traveled to Wilson, NC for a tournament hosted by Barton. The men’s team set a new school scoring record for a 54 hole event. Freshman Jake Clodfelter recorded his career low round (68) during the 54 hole men’s event.
The ladies recorded a third place finish as well; led by redshirt freshman Alice Sylvén, who finished in the runner-up position. Alice recorded her career low round (71) in the final round of the tournament.
