Today, on National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, we want to give a huge shout-out to Officer Rosenbalm!

Middle school is a time of big transitions, and having a steady, positive role model in the hallways makes all the difference. From keeping our campus safe to offering advice, giving high-fives, and being a listening ear, Officer Rosenbalm goes above and beyond to build trust with our students.

Thank you for protecting our halls and mentoring our hearts. We appreciate everything you do for the jaguar community!

Calendar Update:
Due to recent inclement weather—and having used all state-allowed remote instructional days—the Board of Education approved the following changes:

• Friday, Feb. 13 is now a student day (snow make-up day).
• Monday, Feb. 16 will be the snow make-up day for Challenger Early College High School.
• Friday, March 13 is pre-approved as a potential make-up day if needed and currently remains a teacher workday.

Thank you for your continued flexibility and support.

❄️ Remote Learning Day – Tuesday, February 3 ❄️

We know you’re ready to send students back — we are ready for them to be back! However, with winter still hanging on (thank you, groundhog 🐾) and continued hazardous road conditions, Tuesday, February 3 will be a Remote Learning Day.

🖥️ Online Catawba will operate on its normal schedule.
❌ All athletics and extracurricular activities are canceled.

Ms. Wike is there for our students through it all—offering a listening ear, a safe space, and the guidance they need to thrive. Whether it’s navigating friendships, academic goals, or just having a rough day, she is always there to help.

🍿 JFMS PTO Popcorn Grams are coming soon!

Dear Families,

Get ready to get popping! The JFMS PTO is partnering with Gourmet Popcorn 113 to sell Popcorn Grams for Valentine's/Friendship celebrations.

Students can purchase a delicious popcorn treat for their friends (or themselves!) during lunchtime. Here are the details:

💰 Cost: $4 per gram

💵 Payment: Cash or Check

🗓️ Sale Dates (during lunch):

Feb 3rd (Monday)

Feb 4th (Tuesday)

Feb 5th (Wednesday)

Feb 9th (Monday)

🚚 Delivery Date: Grams will be delivered to students on Wednesday, Feb 12th.

Please help your student remember to bring their cash or check on the sale dates if they wish to participate!
