Important Information for RSS Families starting 7/1/2021!!

Effective 9/1/2020, meals will NOT be free for all students. The USDA waiver was not extended past 8/31/20.

Families may apply for meal assistance.

Students at the following schools do not need to complete an application:
Overton Elementary
Koontz Elementary
Isenberg Elementary
Hanford-Dole Elementary
Hurley Elementary
Landis Elementary
North Elementary
Knox Middle
North Middle
Henderson Independent High
The students in these schools all receive free meals under the Community Eligibility Provision.

Today, Thursday, 7/30/2020, is the last day for meals to be delivered via Yellow Bus. We have really enjoyed serving the children in Rowan County this summer. Our buses need to get serviced to start bringing our kiddos back to school on 8/17/2020!! :)

We will have 15 different meal pick-up locations available from 11:00AM-1:00PM on Monday, 8/3/2020 and Tuesday, 8/4/2020.
The locations are as follows:

The Rowan-Salisbury Schools School Nutrition is closed for Spring Break the week of April 6-10, 2020.
No meals will be served on bus routes or by school car-rider lines the week of April 6-10, 2020.
Please refer to the Rowan-Salisbury Schools website at www.rssed.org and Rowan-Salisbury Schools social media outlets for more details on how the Rowan County community is providing food support pick-up during the week of April 6-10, 2020.
We will resume meal service on bus routes and school car-rider lines on Monday, April 13th.
We will respond to your email, if necessary, upon our return to work on Monday, April 13th.

Thank you to ALL of the generous donors and partners that has helped ensure that no child will go hungry during these uncertain times!
A special thank you to… Food Lion and & Walmart for donating shopping bags. These are an essential part in packing out meals to children each day and with the daily increase of children being fed, we were in desperate need of bags.
With our daily totals of over 12,000 children being served – times two meals per day, which would be approximately over 24,000 bags needed each day. Thank you for making this possible with your donations.
Thank you also to our Rowan County Sheriff's Office and Salisbury Police Department for all your help ensuring children are being fed.

Today, we served 12,087 lunches.
We are reaching more and more children each day!

After 4 days of meal service, we have served 40,504 total breakfasts and 40,531 total lunches. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible. You are appreciated!
