Wildcat Families,
What a great first week at North Gaston! Thank you to our students, families, and staff for helping us get the 2026–2027 school year off to such a strong start. There is a lot happening at NoGA this week as we settle into our routines, dive into instruction, and get our fall activities underway.
Monday – Regular Schedule, Volleyball & Booster Club
Monday we are on our regular schedule and ready to dive into instruction. Now that we have spent the first few days establishing routines and expectations, it is time to get into the content and make every instructional minute count.
Our Volleyball team will host Bessemer City Monday evening.
We will also hold our first Booster Club meeting at 6:00 PM in the Senior Cafeteria. We would love to see our sports families get involved and help support all of our Wildcat athletes. Booster Club membership is only $5 for the year and makes you a voting member.
Tuesday – Tennis & Gazette Cup
Women’s Tennis will travel to North Lincoln.
Men’s Soccer will head to Poston Park for the Gazette Cup this week. We are excited to cheer on our Wildcats as they compete!
Wednesday – Volleyball, Cheer Camp & Gaston College Deadline
Volleyball will travel to West Lincoln.
Our Cheer team will host its Lil’ Cheer Camp on Wednesday and Thursday. We are excited to welcome our future Wildcats to campus!
Important Gaston College Reminder: If your student is enrolled in a Gaston College course, all fees must be paid by Wednesday. Students can view and pay their bill through their Gaston College Self-Service account.
Thursday – Senior Portraits & JV Football
Senior Portraits begin Thursday. Seniors have been emailed their individual schedules, and I will also send the complete portrait information in a separate email to our senior families.
JV Football will travel to East Gaston.
Friday – Senior Portraits & First Home Football Game
Senior Portraits continue on Friday.
We will finish the week with our first home Varsity Football game of the season! Please note that kickoff times have changed this year. Our home football games will begin at 7:00 PM.
Gaston County Schools will also host a Facebook Live Pep Rally from North Gaston at 2:30 PM Friday.
Come out Friday night, fill the stands, and help us finish Week 2 with some Wildcat spirit!
A Few Additional Reminders
Student Email: Please encourage your child to check their school email regularly. We communicate important academic, school, club, and activity information directly to students through their school email.
Freshman Chromebooks: We are working to distribute Chromebooks to our freshmen as soon as possible. Our freshman class is approximately 100 students larger than our outgoing senior class, so additional Chromebooks had to be acquired. We are still waiting for those devices to arrive. In the meantime, teachers are working with affected students and providing paper alternatives when needed so that students can continue participating fully in instruction.
Week 1 was a great start! Thank you for your patience, support, and partnership as we opened the school year. Now, let’s work together to make Week 2 even stronger.
Gooooo Wildcats!
